Skopje

Skopje is a city of bold reinvention, where Ottoman heritage meets contemporary ambition. With 483 millimetres of rain a year, the Macedonian capital gets less water than almost any other in the Balkans. It sits in a valley ringed by mountains that take away its rain and its air alike, and that decides its summer, its winter and the month worth coming.
