Muscat

Muscat is Oman's elegant capital, where whitewashed buildings cascade down to the Arabian Sea and a thousand years of trade history breathe through winding souks and weathered forts. The city feels both ancient and unhurried — a place where dhow-builders still work by hand, where Omani hospitality is genuinely offered, and where the call to prayer echoes across quiet neighborhoods of bougainvillea and carved wooden doors. There's a refinement here that sets it apart from busier Gulf cities: no glitz, no rush, just the slow rhythm of a seafaring people and the warm light of the Indian Ocean.
