Minsk for first-timers: three days between grand avenues and quiet courtyards
Minsk was rebuilt almost from nothing after 1944, and it shows: this is one of the widest, straightest, most deliberately monumental capitals in Europe. But behind the granite avenues sit a handful of streets that survived — cobbled, low-roofed, and full of the cafés and markets where the city actually eats. This itinerary gives you both sides over three unrushed days: the Soviet set-piece, the pre-war remnant, and the parks and museums in between.
